The reason it worked was because the hash was heated or in other words decarboxilated. You're not going to get high just by eating a lump of unheated hash.

...the way I understand it is metabolized THC gives 4 times the ?high? as smoking thc. Part of the smoking high is depriving the brain of oxygen. I?m going to www and read up a little more..

If you eat a gram of blonde Lebanese hash your going to have an intense body high, lasts a long time and it is different buzz from smoking it too. You do not want to drive on it either....

I heated the knives on the stove, but there was too much waste, too much "went up in smoke"...:tongue3:

The hot knives was ok, but did waste a lot. Evolved to putting a thin layer on top of a bong hit of pot.
Yeilded great flavor, and a good buzz. :)

Butane honey oil (more commonly known as BHO) has been around
for about 20 years (that I know of). Butane extraction is probably the
standard for most of the oils you can buy at a dispensary.

In the wrong hands it can be a very dangerous process, as when
extracting the oils from the bud there is butane gas all around
the work area, and all it takes is one spark and....you're toast.

Made it a number of times myself using just the bud trimmings,
but it's very hard on the lungs and sinuses when smoked. Don't
care for it much anymore.

Yeah I?ll get back to you on that when you hit it and hit like a mule

Don't think there's much that would hit me that hard. Ya gotta understand,
I get to smoke as much as I want, and haven't missed a day in over 10 years.
My goal isn't to get super stoned, ever, but to maintain a comfortable level
throughout the day so the vertigo attacks will stay away. It also helps when
the tinnitus is at a rock concert level...doesn't make it quieter, but I don't
focus on it as much. woot-035.gif

When I grow, there's always several strains in the grow, so that way
I don't get too accustomed to just one strain. My tolerance level is
very high..like somewhere out there between Mars and Jupiter. moose.gif

Currently trimming up the final plant of the season..a healthy Orange Crush.

I also have tinnitus and it sucks, your correct smoking does help to not focus on it. Unfortunately mine is from a blood pressure medicine not concerts. I took new med for 2 weeks when ears started ringing I researched the new med and found one of the side affects was tinnitus, I hadn't been to concert in several years either.

Even though I went to a lot of concerts over my lifetime and some of the loudest bands and concert venues they didn't give me tinnitus yet my blood pressure meds did and I had ringing in the ears after several concerts before I started carrying ear plugs in case I needed them. I was front row on many great concerts.

I switched to vaping oil, a single hit lasts for couple hours, more than one and it can get pretty intense if not careful and best of all there is no smell and no smoke. Not home made either, Rocky Mountain High...

Had to LOL...I've only been to one rock concert in my whole life, and
that was a Brian Adams concert that wife #2 wanted to go see, and
I agreed to go along.

I used to go by a scale of 1-10, with 10 being so loud I can't make
out the words when people talk to me. It got boring, so I made up
my own scale, using stuff like Ludicrous Loud, Rock Concert, etc.

Unfortunately, it all comes from Bi-lateral Meniere's Disease, and
there's not much I can do about it aside from the MJ. Doc's always
offering me Valium, Klonopin, Ativan, etc. but A) it wipes me out,
and, B) it's not nearly as effective as the MJ.

In my younger years, I spent far too many hours putting thousands
of centerfire rounds down range. That left me with "quiet tinnitus",
meaning it was always there, but wasn't loud enough to be a distraction.

Meniere's is a whole different ballgame.

Yeah I have to admit my lungs are bad I?ve been smoking cigarettes since 14 so I?ll leave and choke on a Marlboro red. I?m not an every day weed smoker but when I do it?s in my dog out and one that gives me 3 pulls and I?m good I?m not trying to move I just want a mini vacation.

Nice, well used glass....:occasion14:

Bro, that thing seriously needs some cleaning. Best cleaner I ever
found was using ISO alcohol and chunky salt..shake until sparkling
clean. You can get 91% ISO at Walgreens, and Kosher salt works
fine. :icon_thumleft:

Yup, sparkling clean :)
I have a bong, I got for Father’s Day. Very similar to OrViking.
I don’t use it very much ..... I always seem to load it up too full ... then choke.
About the only good thing with a hit that’s too big, is it can really loosen up the sinuses.
Really breaks loose the crud in the nasal passage.
Nice for a little while :)

I do like smoking out of a glass pipe.
Resin can get messy.... I have found that some older dry weed, works very good for mixing with resin. Soaks up the oil, and can then be moulded into a bar. One that can be handled without tar getting everywhere :)

you need to clean that thing more often.... I always hated bongs cause they taste terrible and lead to respiratory infections unless you are obsessive on cleaning it.

Although I gave him a bad time for it, in OV's defense I can honestly say
that I've seen people smoke from much, much worse. green.gif

Some years back I invested some time in trying to develop a filter
for a bong, and after trial and error, I succeeded. Had a local machine
shop make me one ($200), and it works like a champ when I use it.
To take it further (manufacturing) would have required capital that I
didn't have.

There is a filter on the market now:

I have that filter! My bong.. multi-chamber glass bong, with an ice catcher, is separated into two chambers connected by a tube or third chamber. Both upper and lower chamber hold water so the smoke is filtered twice. This produces a much cooler, much smoother smoke than any other bong can provide. Which is why many people prefer a bong with multiple chambers.
