Pouchful of jewelry, some gold /silver from July 1 & 2
Hello to all!
Since I am going crazy here, bored out of my mind and in too much pain and too medicated to function well still from the car crash I was in one week ago, I was rooting around cleaning up and getting my finds organized, thinking about posting a 1/2 year total finds thread, but I found a couple baggies full of finds from July 1st and 2nd that I had put on my shelf and forgotten about, never posted them here. After I hunt, I usually pull all the finds out of my MD'ing pouch and put them in a ziplock baggie prior to cleaning them up. I guess I got busy during the 4th of July holiday and then was so excited that following weekend finding the gold coin ring, these finds just sat there ignored and forgotten. So I'll post them now.
During those two days, I hit 5 elementary schools in a district that had beautiful and large woodchipped play areas. It's fairly close (15 miles away) but I never have hit it for some reason. There are still 10 more schools in that district to get to someday. At all these schools, there had definitely been someone detecting there within the past few months. There were hardly any coins or finds around any of the play equipment, but like usual, I covered the entire woodchip areas and it really paid off in the end. It was a heck of a lot of swinging, but dang, persistance and hard work pays off most times. The ole trusty Garrett TR machine helps too as it sniffs out those coins and jewelry big time. I was still very surprized when I cleaned everything up and looked at the totals. It was a lot higher then I thought.
I had a few keepers. The best is a 14kt gold earring, marked 585 on one side and Italy on the other and has a pretty pinkish red stone in the center of a flower shape. Another goldie is a broken pendant. It says "Nana" but the loop and part of the N is missing. It's marked 10K. I also found a sterling crusifix and two sterling earrings. These finds were all found in the open areas away from any play equipment.

I found so much trinket jewelry in these two hunts that I had to have separate photos just for them. 9 rings, 13 pendants and shoe fobs, 3 junk chains, 2 junk bracelets, a nice trinket bracelet filled with CZ's, 7 earrings, and a gold colored religious coin. Not valuable but fun to find I think.

So here are the two day hunt totals. 7 hours of hunting. 187 coins total including another Sac $1 coin, for a face value of $17.34, lots of quarters (38) and dimes these two days! All the trinkets and keepers. Some fun days even though it was a lot of work. I am looking forward to getting to a few more of these schools when I finally get back on my feet and can detect again. It will be a few weeks still I think. The clad pile, keepers, and some of the other finds are pictured below.
Thanks for reading, good luck to you all and be careful out there! HH!!
