On Sunday I hit a park that has given up some really old coins. This park gets hit regularly and the weapon of choice seems to be the CTX 3030.
I have hit it with my AT PRO, the E-trac, the CTX and the DEUS. Sunday, my choice was the DEUS.
I stayed away from an area that I know a lot of guys focus on and decided to visit a hill on the other side of the park. This hill and it's surrounding lawns have given up silver, Indians, some jewelry, and even an LC. After many visits, the deep targets all seemed to disappear. We haven't had much of a winter so I couldn't depend on any deep freezes that help to move any deep coins around but it is always worth a try.
I picked away at the usual clad and a few deep wheat pennies. Then I got an Indian Head Penny. (1905) I decided to finish the 6 hour hunt with the last 2 hours on the hill itself. I finally got a sweet soft deep signal that said, "This is nice"
I dug a 6 inch plug and tested the hole with my Garrett Carrot. Sure enough, something still in the hole. Scooped out some loose soil and notice a nice disc that appeared larger than a quarter and it had a glint of silver to it. I got it out of the hole and a few deep breaths later, there was a Walking Liberty Half. I didn't get any Walkers in all of 2016.
This silver coin ties my previous 9 hunt streak of finding at least one silver coin per hunt.

Persistence pays, good work.

I think those walking Liberties are the most beautiful coin ever made... ( except maybe the Gold US coins ) I've seriously had dreams about finding one.

One of these days!

Awesome!
