Just got off the phone with Old Dog . Things are still positive with his mom and they still need our prayers.

Here is the update from my Dad.
It seems she has been having trouble swallowing with the left side parralisis.
She has been getting som liquid in her left lung from this problem.

Here is his email, very shortand not too inclusive.
I guess I just didn't ask the right questions this time.

Jan went to Page co. Hospital today for some chest xrays. She has taken a minor amount of fluid into her lungs, This is one of the hazards of a stroke. Jan can have all the water she wants after a meal but only thickened fluids while eating. BUMMER!! Getting stronger each day. Memory loss at this time seams to be minor!! Again thanks for the prayers.

I am feeling so flaky lately it is a wonder I get anything done.
I appreciate the prayers more than you will ever know.

The idea of dropping and running 2,000 miles is wearing me a little thin.

Need to keep those prayers going PLEASE! Thom sent me the news his dad sent him about his mom (Jan) they had to stop her physical theropy her heart cant take it, this is not good. So please remember her in your prayers!

A quick update ...

They have been doing some electric therapy to her throat to encourage swallowing,
she hates it but it seems to help.
The therapists and doctors have reduced the amount of PT to try to help regulate the heart rate,
so now she is getting bored. She called me last night at 2:00 AM her time, said she couldn't sleep.... That's midnight my time.
Always good to hear from her.
Dad snuck one of her cats in to see her, which was a big hit. for her and the cat.
They asked Dad to keep the cat in the cage next time. LOL
He said he was going to bring a different one next time.

She hates the food, and wants badly to go home,
she doesn't seem to understand that she needs the help she gets here.
These are all signs that there is improvement

That is great news any argueing is a very good sign, maybe if it wont hurt her diet needs maybe he can sneak in some real food for her, that and a cat should do wonders for her. I am so very happy for your mom, you and your family with the good news, and you know you are constantly in our prayers and will remain there! Please keep letting us know!

Thom called last night update on his mom really needs lots of prayers ..... as you all know she is in rehab for her stroke and they want to as Thom said on here do a procedure to stop her heart and restart it to regulate it right which is really scaring her, well while in the facility she has picked up a stomach bug thats going around in the place and has also now gotton pneumonia. His sister is going to move her job there so she can help and keep the family updated. So please extra prayers to get her and the rest of the family thrugh this.

Thom, I just saw this, so sorry I missed it until now. My prayers and heart felt wishes for a speedy recovery are on the way! I'll be thinking of you and your family.

Thom E-mailed me yesterday with an update

His mom was moved from rehab to the hospital; she has congestive heart failure. An infection (lungs)
Shortness of breath, a fever ect. Which are not good developments at all.
His sister who has gone from her home to help their parents says the CHF is severe and she is not reacting to treatment. She also has a bad kidney infection and her heart rate is off the chart that her blood pressure is not responding to any treatment and is at stroke level.

He also said Thanks for ny and all prayers!

I told him I would update this for you all to know how things are!

Thom as I told you, you have alot of prayers from here as well as others!

Just got off the phone with Thom . He's in Virginia with his Mom and she's making a comeback . Organs are starting to function and she is communicating with them.
Thom is helping his Dad retrofit the house in anticipation of getting her back home .
