JUst in on my PM-I consider this the exception to making them public.
Well, folks, I had hoped that I would have good news for you about Gayle...........but, sadly, it's not. She went into surgery today....everything went smoothly. They took out the big stint, inserted a smaller stint, but they didn't want to try for the stones because it was just too risky at this point...the ureter seemed to be healing ok. Doctor came out and said that she would be able to come home today. Great News!
Three hours later...no Gayle. Went up and they said the doctor had been called back to the hospital to attend to Gayle...................she had suddenly spiked a fever of 103.7, cold chills, vomiting, etc. Not good news. Doctor came out later....basically she was in septic shock. When the big stint was being removed, septic bacteria entered her bloodstream...................
Bottom line..............she is not doing well at all. Kidneys are not producing any urine. When I left the PACU (Post Anesthesia Care Unit) at 10 PM tonight, they were guarded about her condition. The ICU is full, so they don't have a room for her in that unit. As such, they are holding her in the PACU. I was able to see her for 2 minutes.
Guess I'm needing those prayers again, Folks. Don't think I can get through this without them. I probably won't be on the net for awhile, but will try to get on when I can with an update. Stoney, could you fwd this to Burdie? With the Christmas names in place, I am having troubles trying to figure out who is who.
Thanks,
