A while back there was a rather lengthy thread on this subject. The person had sent a digger back for repair and they gave him a big run around and if I remember correctly it took over 3 weeks to get it back. I own two of their diggers but I must admit I have my doubts about the reliability of the business and would think twice before ordering. If they are stiffing you before you even have it just think of your service if it needs repairs!

Thanks for the info. I will search for that thread. You are right though, makes me think twice about ordering a tool from them.

Damn, those do look nice. That may be a better option if I have to get a refund on my order next week.

Just wondering if anybody else has received poor service from Predator Tools? I am going on 2 weeks without being able to get any information on my order. Come Monday I will have to file claim with Paypal to get my money back. If I would of known about this poor service I would of bought a sampson t handle off amazon or somewhere else.

I bought a Raven 25 from Predator Tools last month, and it wasn't exactly a smooth purchase. They had (and still have) 2 different prices for the same shovel via a Paypal link, so after I bought the item, they wanted more money. I politely asked to cancel the order, but they didn't respond and shipped it anyway. However, they neglected to include a foot pad I had ordered, so I had to contact them again to get it.

In the end, I got what I wanted, and I'm happy with the quality. I think their prices are a little high, compared to the other Lesche family at WWMFG. My hand digger is made by WWMFG, was $20 cheaper than the same Predator version, and I haven't had any durability issues in the past year.

The thing to remember is that Predator Tools is not a big company, it consists of George, Pam and their son. I'm sure things get overlooked or forgotten on occasion. I would love to get into that company, streamline their business and make some major changes to their website and create a much larger online presence.

I hear what you are saying but not being a " big company " is absolutely no excuse for poor customer service.

I totally agree. They need to work on communicating better with their customers. Positive transactions breed more business.

I am going to give them one more shot Monday. For 2 weeks I have emailed them and called with no luck. Seems like what I am hearing this lack of communication is par for the course. I heard they have a great product but I agree, that is no excuse becuase of their size. Takes 30 seconds to respond to an email with information I am asking. "When can I expect shipment."

Might I ask what item you ordered from them?

I've bought a Mauler Relic shovel and a Raptor model 31 (Favorite) and never had any trouble. They are made from high quality steel and heat treated with 5 year warranty. There's a reason they aren't necessarily so customer driven, I believe it's because they're tools are so well built, that sales still do very well. I know they have been extremely busy with hunting events coming up in very near future, and it's not a production line type operation, as I don't want them to be, they still build em one at a time! I know even if you buy a dozen tools at one time, they won't combine shipping or give a discount. I

Thanks for the information. I know diggin virginia is this weekend I believe so maybe you are right about their time being focused on these events. I know the quality speaks for itself so I will give them a little more time.

Model 85 is what I am waiting on

You might e-mail them a copy of this thread if they are concerned over customer service. Good luck on your purchase. I have heard it is a good tool. I have been cutting off my own shovels for years.

Why did you choose that over the WWMFG Lesche digger? Did you opt for a non-orange handle?

Yes, i did not like the orange handle so I went with the black handle. I know it is a little more but from what I hear it is the last one you will have to buy

I beat the hell out of my Lesche digger (WWMFG) all last year and it still looks/works like new. I got another free one in a detector package for backup, but I may be an old man before it gets used..
