President's Day Hunt

Nate and I were off for Presidents Day yesterday. Nate wanted to get an early start to get home early. Even though we didn’t really didn’t leave that early I was dragging. We go out to the ‘berg ( http://forum.treasurenet.com/index.php/topic,52388.0.html )
and I wander around for about an hour just wishing I was back in my bed. So I come back to where Nate is and he informs me that he found a .______ . I think through the scenario of how I missed that coin and just sit down and rest. A little bit later while I am still resting Nate exclaims “Score!”. So I finally get a little motivation and get back to it. I managed to start finding some wheat pennies which encouraged me. I kept hunting and eventually found a merc. Weather was decent and it was fun hunting when you got a little snow squall.

Nate about to "Score!". ;D

Re: President's Day Hunt

Bob, in a manner that serves in all gravity, has your passion diminished? I just couldn't see myself sitting on a stump, while glaring at the zoyboy swinging with the fever. :D

Well, you still excavated some wilver before the day was over.

In all gravity, keep the passion high!

Kirk

P.S. I am looking forward to Nate's post.

Re: President's Day Hunt

Nice Digs, Kudoos to getting out even if rest was on your mind...the merc made it worth it. That small cashe of wheaties is a great shot in the arm too. Congrats and HH

Re: President's Day Hunt

Good stuff! I can't even imagine finding that many wheats in one day, let alone the Merc! WTG!

HH,

Re: President's Day Hunt

I think you should have named that place "bank" instead of "berg". Nice hunt as usual. Always happy to find mercs.

Passion is diminished under the gravest circumstances of which I was under. ;) Seriously, two nights in a row I did not get nearly enough sleep. Couple that with some of the places at the berg we have hit so hard you wouldn't even be able to dig up a pull tab. Passion ignites under fairer circumstances. :)

Thimble says "Royal Furnace Co. Your credit is good".

Yes Jill, it was worth it. This hobby isn't always about finding loads of treasure but it sure makes it worthwhile when you come home with a keeper. :)

WTG. Nice Pictures

Re: President's Day Hunt

Bob, glad you were able to get out; we're too frozen here to dig >:(.

Re: President's Day Hunt

Getting back to that thimble...... That must be a trade thimble then???? I would think pretty darn rare & worth quite a bit, I'd see what you can find out about it... way cool

Re: President's Day Hunt

Glad to hear you had a great day even if you didn't feel good. Nice stuff, especially like the thimble.

Re: President's Day Hunt

Bob,
Congrats on the Merc & Wheats. Glad to see you two made it out.
