I agree 100%. Old home sites, and surrounding area.

Well if you like clad and trash parks and schools are still a good bet.

I would have to agree. Great finds are on private property.

Ya it can be but come to the home site I've been working, I think the old house & a 50's Cadillac exploded in this yard. So much trash it's unbelievable! & It's impossible to cherry pick because just to much buried can slaw, aluminum siding, old metal car trim, iron, nails, foil & pull tabs. I bet I'm up to 75lbs of junk out of this yard so far + still lots to go.

Agreed, there's nothing like finding an old virgin site!!

agree 100% my best finds have come from old private homes but i still like parks and schools they can still be fun

Definitly, still love the parks!!

yea but the white house lawn would still be the best place to hunt. And when asked their written response is" Were sorry but we cannot grant you permission due to security reasons". It wasnt a total No.

Man imagine how that hunt would go

Private property has scored me my best finds so far. Parks and boulevards have been only clad and trash.

Lots of pull tabs and condom wrappers.

Lol thats funny

I think the best spot in the yard would be right outside oval office window.

White house .......more trash inside than outside......Did I just say that.....:nono:

I've heard it's littered with chicken bones, & a bunch of KFC trash..??

For casual detecting, I would have to say the 200 year old yards have the best possibility to hold the best finds in the way of coins small relics and jewelry. The older yards have seen more traffic in better times. I will through in a couple of examples. A 200 year old ax head & a gold ring with ruby.
