Just got my pro pointer back from Garrett, it took 1 1/2 weeks ...... That was the longest week and a half ! Thank you Garrett

The pro pointer was going off at everything..... Even the air. I had read that there was an issue with a couple of wires inside touching the board and giving false signals.

Everyone I have ever had does that...at first i thought it was the mechincals or something.

Then i relized what the problem with them REALLY are...is the way the battery case is set up...I noticed the contacts on both of mine have been pushed back just enough to go in and out and false for no reason.

My quick remedy was to put a bottle cap in the battery case and it worked great...it still does weird shiii sometimes....but not enough to drive me nuts.....Now if they could just make the button a little better...it would be PERFECT!

I sit a pull tab on top my battery. And lord knows I don't have any problems finding one of them when I need it.

I stuck one these sticky felt cover thing's to inside of the cap that also works well...

I apologize I thought it took you 1-1/2 weeks to get it after you bought it. I can understand waiting 1-1/2 weeks for a repair. That had to be painful

I do not think that I could hunt without mine so that is why I keep another brand for backup.

I have a cheap spare but it's just not the same. Ive tried a couple of other pointers and in my opinion they just don't work as well as the Garrett.

Good finds can be found in Charter Member Classifieds.....this just came up a few days ago.....Used Garrett propointer,shows signs of light used.90.00 paypal Used minelab propointer ,shows some light use. 105.00 paypal..

Be careful... the china fakes are EVERYWHERE now. Very hard to tell the difference till you compare the performance to a real one.
