Professional Freight Handler Pin. Any ideas of where, when, who?

[mighty_mace]

Any idea of what this pin could be from?

Seems to be made of brass. Looks like some sort of medical type item in the flyin' Icarus dudes hand.

Here is a link to my Todays find post where you can see the size relative to a penny:

Any letters, words or symbols on the reverse?

Using a white background makes for bad pictures with an automatic focus camera. The lens doesnt adjust properly and the object is usually too dark. Try using a blue background and outdoor light, flash off. A good clear pic of the back may help. Interesting find.

The symbol is of the Greek God Hermes or Mercury.

There is a company called Hermes Custom Brokers and Freight Forwarders. They use the same 'logo'.

There is also a Hermes airliner in service in the 50's. http://www.dandare.org/eagle/cutaways/hermes.htm
and many others to search. http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&...en&q=hermes+air+freight&btnG=Search&aq=f&aqi=
