Hello all. I bought $200 in halves today, no luck with silver. While searching I noticed an especially shiny one with copper edges. It was a 1981, but it was a S. Are proofs common in CRH? Does everyone check their mint marks, as well? Thanks for info before hand and Happy Hunting!

Thanks all, I gave the 81 Kennedy proof to my cousin. (It's his birthday year) On my very next box of halves I found an 86 Kennedy proof! (My birthyear).

It's a British penny, pre-decimal.
