Protecting Relics While Detecting

I found a small jewelery/crafts case with dividers that fits perfectly in my vest. Not sure what to put in there to protect the items - I’ve seen foam used on videos but they don’t say what type. What do y’all use to store/protect relics while detecting?

I found that for most military buttons one of the old 35 mm film cases works good with a little piece of paper towel.

pill bottle and cotton balls for buttons, larger items that are worth the effort get wrapped in toilet paper.

Pill bottle with paper towel rides in my pouch.
Have not needed to use the hat or large cloth bag , yet!
