2-17-11 Hi TN I found this old silver coin this past weekend and have been trying to get an ID on "coins forum" since then . I had hoped to post it on Todays Finds forum sooner but with the accurate identification . :icon_scratch: No ID success , so here it is . Just wanted to get it out there maybe someone will recognize it . I dug this one up at an 18th century area , maybe a Prussian silver { see Prussian Crest eagle } , approximately 2 CM , Eagle type wings , shield , reverse is extremely worn , as shown . Eighth inch thick . Thanks for checking in , CMD dawg

Ask the English, they dig that stuff for breakfast.
It looks a Hell of a lot older than 18th century.
Very nice find.

I would think someone with a world coin book for the 17th and one for the 18th century could say on it being a ruble or not. If it was an Anna it would have to be 1730-1740, when she reigned, but I can't find a match, possible Peter ruble , which would be late 1690s I believe, just so hard to make out the details other than the counterstamp and two headed eagle. Tough one for sure.
