I found this at my early archaic to possibly transitional site, about 16” down... it’s not much but I’m seeing worked stone around In a lobe or ear and the other side is broken off. Looks to me like a probable auriculate base or bifurcated. Also can’t tell if there’s a flute attempt or just a basal thinning flake... I traced and flipped it and traced it to make the other side, took what flaking I could see and put together my best guess, I know it’s weird to have the flakes run past the median but the one of two I can see does run nearly across the face, so I kept with it all the way up. looks sorta dalton esque

What do you guys think? Am I close or do I have my expectations too high, I know it’s easy to want every find to be special.

I’ll take it, I just like to check myself to make sure I’m not looking too close and seeing what I want to see. I know I’m making a few assumptions to arrive at what I got but that’s part of the fun.
