ok, no idea with this one. It is broke on the one end with no indication being killed on purpose. The stone is perhaps schist, which makes it exotic for the site, but at the same time, has been found before here and source identified at about 400 miles away. I found it under the roots of a tree that has produced many points and artifacts in the past...pretty much in the historic/post classic stage. I can't really venture a guess at its purpose, all I have is that it is obviously worked.

Any ideas appreciated.

Well I’ll take a shot, an abrader stone. Maybe the pointy end was to get into tight spots?

Interesting piece. You got me on what it is. All the suggestions sound good.
