Question about soldering headphone wires

The red and black wires came off. I got a soldering gun to do it. Question is I don't know which of the two spots , which one is red and black. The two solder spots say LI and RI

I wish they would make headphones as well as other items w/ heavier gauge wires. I have tried repairs with mixed results... the wires are thin & fragile. Kudos if your repair was a success I have even seen ignition switch wires on weed trimmers fail .. they could stand to be slightly heavier, & longer. I would rather swing a detector than a trimmer any day!
