Question for brinks half dollar searchers

Hi all brinks half dollar searchers. I have a question... How common do you get proof halves? I am used to a single layer box 5x10 rolls... I have done $7000 in those halves ever(started this january) and have gotten a decant amount of silvers but only one proof(1996s last batch), I am guessing proofs are rare.

I picked up a box of half dollars I ordered at a different bank and they were in a different style box, a 2 layer box which was 5x5... That box I searched earlier and it was quite unusual... many 1995 and 1996 "AU" real shiny coins in it along with three(3) proofs

Is this normal for a brinks box of halves? I am confused because I really like proofs just as much as silver and never get proofs in the $7000 in single layer 5x10 boxes and get 3 proofs in (1) $500 box of brinks 2x5x5 box...

Really no correct answer to this. There are coin suppliers across the country and they can only roll what they receive. Only true answer would be from someone in your own Fed District.

I agree, it's gotta be specific to an area. I get the 5x10x1 yellow boxes and I've gotten TONS of proofs.

I do A lot of brinks boxes of halves and they are the 5x5x2 layer boxes. They are hit and miss. Depends of course on luck. I do get string boxes that are the 5x10x1 layer boxes and have had better luck with those. But it all is a crap shoot as it is call coin roll HUNTING not getting. Lol. Good luck. And HH. It is hit and miss for me too.

I'm going to guess that I get one proof per 8 boxes, or so. I didn't get any last month, but got two badly impaired ones today out of one box of $500.

I've done about 30 boxes of halves (all Brink's) in the last year since I joined the forum. The first 25 boxes or so were in Brink's quarter boxes turned inside out with the rolls laid in there as neatly as they could. The last few boxes were the 5X5X2 that ya'll have referred to marked "$500 in Halves" on the outside. In my first 29 boxes, I found 2 clad proofs (an '06 and a ??(can't recall)). I have found 10 deep cameo's in probably 300k searched across 5 states. I don't look for anything but silver but those always pop out. Hope that helps!

Why do you want impaired proofs so bad? I have plenty of impaired proofs if you want. I would be willing to trade for silver.

In my last three Brinks style boxes, I got skunked with an impaired proof. I have so many impaired proofs over the years that I just now throw them back along the dumps. I used to keep them and treasured them that is until you collect a bunch of them and all of sudden they don't seem so rare anymore.

I have 2 pick up banks. 1 uses Brinks and does not.

I have not got any proofs from Brinks yet, but I have got a lot from the CWI single layer boxes.
