I have been heavy into nickels for a while now and then switched over to dimes and quarters. While going through quarters I began finding lots of error coins and began putting together a collection of error and variety coins. I have started going through a lot more cents now. Was previously doing a box every week or two. Now I'm at 3-4 a week.

Here is my question for you Coppercrazy. What errors and varieties should I be looking out for? I recall a post by you several weeks ago that you find an average of 5 error coins per box of cents. I am currently looking for the following errors and varieties "not including wheat errors".

- 2009 Lincoln extra thumb
- 2000, 1999, 1998 & 1997 WAM
- 1995 DDO liberty
- 1992 CAM
- 1984 DDO ear
- 1983 DDO cents
- 1972 DDO date
- 1970-S small date
- 1960 small date
- Re-punched mint marks

So what advice can you give in my searching. What errors do you commonly find and what resources could you recommend for educating myself. Thanks in advance for any help you can give.

Everyone else feel free to chime in.

Pick and choose what you would like and I do not get nearly that many. Over the past year I've averaged probably about 1 in 7 or 8 boxes. I only keep the really obvious errors, the brockage, cuds, laminations, capped dies. But like the poster said above check out the lincoln cent resource that's where I got most of my knowledge.
