Quick hunt before the rain - Tiffany&Co. silver

Got out today before the rain started for a couple of hours. The 101st Airborne piece is brass...measures 2" tall / 1-5/8" wide. Interesting piece.
Also found this nice Tiffany&Co. 925 silver earring (3.1 grams). The usual clad and a 1940 nickel. Looks like the weather is going to delay any hunts for a while...cabin fever
sets in quickly....

That Airborn piece is a nice find ! Since it's obviously meant to be seen on both sides - I'm wondering how it was displayed ?

I haven't been able to find anything like it on the internet.....still searching.
It's a heavy piece, doesn't seem to be anything that would be worn....no way to attach it to a uniform.
I'm wondering if it's a medal given out for "Excellence of Duty".....which is what it says on the back side.

Yeah , that could well be - perhaps it was in a felt lined presentation case originally - I think some online research , or some military collectors
will have the answer - I think this is a really excellent find !
