Wrightdigger, there is one state among the fifty that claims title as "The land of 10,000 lakes"

State On the other side of the river from the land of 10,000 lakes has over 15,000 lakes, but we don't brag about it.

Florida has double that with over 30,000. heh

together they would cover a little more than 3million acres of land. The lakes range from very small to the nation's fourth-largest natural lake, 448,000-acre Lake Okeechobee.

But don't feel bad.., Cause Florida may beat both of those States... BUT...

Alaska is the state of more than 3 million lakes.

Yeah, but you gotta swim to get across WI lakes. In Florida you can just stroll across without getting your knees wet.

I suppose our Lake Winibago is comparable to your Lake Okeechobee in that they are both large, shallow inland lakes. Okeechobee has the biggest large mouth bass of the two lakes with the peacock bass present but void of Winnebago's smallmouth bass. Winnebago has the potential for much larger fish, 50lb+ catfish and 100lb sturgeon. The thing about Winnebago though is the d@mn thing freezes over in winter.

Then we got the Michigan on the east side of WI. Salmon, trout , walleye, perch, and the occasional burbot. But you got the Gulf and the Atlantic with all the ocean fish. But then again it gets terrible hot in the FL summer sun.

Hey ARC.......you ever hunt Punta rassa ghost town ?? It looks hot from google and a lot of gold changed hands here at the terminus for the cracker trail. The spaniards only traded in gold coins for these cattle and some of the cattle barons were rich in gold coins. All the cattle were trans shipped from punta rassa. It looks from google to be all there in the bush. not sure if the circled area is old town streets or cattle stockades. I can be in there by kyak in 10 mins with the coil down.....or in the shallows. There was a large hotel on the coast here somewhere. Have you ever read any history about it or been there ??

Was planning to go fishing tomorrow with a friend of mine on a lake a couple miles away, but it fell through due to predicted thunder storms. No worries. I went out last night at 2:00 on my lake and caught a short sixteen inch and an 18-1/2" walleye trolling a Shad Rap. Home before dusk. Just keep the 18-1/2" for dinner (or was that breakfast?), which I just ate, which was delicious.

Man, I grew up on this lake and the walleye fishing has never been so good! Caught 42 so far this season with 14 being 18"+ keepers. Better than lobster IMO.

Not my video but this one is pretty cool IMO.-

We have Walleye in our State lakes here in Mississippi now. Caught my first one on a swim
bait on my last trip bass fishing. I was also informed that if I kelp it it would cost me 600
big ones. Gently put it back in the lake.

heres how we do it in the keys. This is nick stanzyk.....we call him the kid because he been doing it since he was a kid. They fought this fish for 8 hours on an electric reel. 2 harpoons and 3 gaffs in the end !! Ya making us conchs proud !!
