How about a NEW section on Tnet for "Treasure hunting with scuba" ? What y'all Think ? Closest thing here is "beach & shallow water" section.I contacted Tnet a couple days ago.And have not had a response back .

RTR,

A couple of guys on the Canadian forum use what they call a hookah system I'm assuming it's a similar set up where they have an air source on the surface(I believe they use some kind of floating donut with the air supply above water) and use tubing to provide them with air. Great for metal detecting underwater without all the hassle of wearing
tanks.

Thanks......I'm thinking it would be the perfect tool for shallow water treasure hunts.With a backup battery you could stay down 2xs longer.NO fooling around with tanks & getting them filled,and inspected

RTR,

Yep they must do the trick because one of the guys who uses the hookah system used to dive commercially so obviously knows his stuff.

And he uses it for fresh water lake beaches because they allow you to detect beyond wading range and scoop up the goodies others can't get to.

Personally I am not big on anything battery powered... especially if it is sustaining my life underwater.... but hey that's me...

Gas conks out as well... which is always an abrupt "joy".... so... tit for tat.

I guess I am more "industrial".

There are pros and cons to each.
