In the past week I got out on two new sites that I gained permission on a couple of weeks ago. Both sites have turned out to be awesome so far. One is a late 1790's to 1840's site and the other dates back to 1735 confimed by documentation from landowner. The first site has given up multiple flat buttons, 1899 Barber Quarter, Spanish Cut Silver, Several broken shoe buckles, thimbles, Big coat buttons, Eagle I, a lots of other brass and copper goodies.

The 1735 site was just plain amazing and the first hunt (4 hours) lands a beautiful Andrew Jackson March 4, 1829 Inauguration Button (24 stars) and a 1773 Virginia Half Penny. My buddy found a King George III copper coin also. Got a nice post civil war eagle coat button and some other goodies. This site will take years to hunt due to the size of the property and mulitple structures across the site that date back to colonial america. You can visit Youtube under Wes-N-VA to view the live digs. Here is a sample of what was found in about 12 hours total of swinging the T2 SE and Minelab E-trac. Thanks for viewing and HH to all.

Now what's there not to like about any of those finds? Congrats on the cut silver and the Barber along with the copper. The button would put a smile on any face for sure.

Simply amazing finds! Wow thanks for showing

Way to go Wes! Those are some AWESOME finds! Love the button. Hopefully you can find a GW one there as well!

Awsome finds! Congrats, that's what I call a good day out in the field!

Great site/sites you have there. The button is awesome and the cut silver and large copper really put the icing on the cake. Congrats!

Amazing stuff, congratulations Wes:thumbsup: Can't wait to see what you pull out next.

Man I love that eagle button..almost as much as Spanish silver:laughing7:

hh,
Chris

Absolutely awesome finds. Saying Congrats seems kind of weak on that stuff.:hello:

Great finds. Sweet button!

Nice digs Wes. I've dug thousands of flat buttons but never one of those Jacksons. Very nice gilting on it too. And I love the looks of that cornfield. Very rare to see it cut down to the dirt like that. Definitely makes for easy hunting.

Congrats Wes!!!! Super finds -banner!!!!

Beautiful finds! I really love those buttons and the Spanish Silver, especially the cut silver! You two will have an incredible collection of coins and relics from that site. Way to go and keep it up :icon_thumleft:

Now that's a nice, rare button there! As I recall they are actually worth a decent amount of money. Great stuff there. VA Halfpenny is on my list to dig. So is a Jackson button, but I'm in Whig territory down here in South Louisiana. Gotta go up to north LA for a shot at a Jackson relic.

Cheers,

Buck

May have to check on this but I think they go for around $250-$300

Thanks Bill! When I dug the button, I just figured it was just another flat button but I did notice the gold gilt so I did put it in a special container lol. I agree with the corn field statement, this is the first year I seen them cut it down like that. I guess they are going to plant wheat before long is the only thing I can reckon? It was a nice surprise!
