Relic Hunting
Well went to several places detecting for civil war artifacts today and didn't find much from running away from pop up showers and skeeters but when I left there we decided to check out a possible turn of the century home place till one of the landowners we hunt on got home. Was walking along out in the back yard of this old house and never found anything good except for 2 zinc cents when I walked near a recent looking burn pit and right on top of the ground where some dirt had been turned over was this token. It reads on the obverse "save at the sample stores bentonville and Rogers Arkansas" and on reverse says " every dollar earns 3% interest 3 cents" looked it up and it's a freaking r-9 on rarity and only 3 to 5 known to exist. Talk about a good day:)

Awesome find, did you get the erratic whites figured out?

Yea. Think so anyway. Took it out today and adjusted a few things so lets hope so. Was thinking it was just a normal token and didn't think much of it till I got home and looked it up. Talk about exciting;)

Not sure if banner material but thanks for your compliments;)

Congrats !!!!!! always love the tokens !!!

Mack obviously whoever owns that one isn't bright enough to look in the Arkansas token catalogue. There is a little story on it plus it shows the rarity of it. Obviously I look up what I find and do a bit of research before posting. Plus I have sold several tokens and have already talking to my numismatist that I sell to. The other guy is crazy if he sells that thing on ebay

Here's your proof Mack. Sorry but I am a big time believer in knowing the facts before you open your mouth kind of guy.

Excuse me you calling me a liar

okay, guys, simmer down before ya boil over, lol. I kin chastise ya like that cuz I'm even older than yer moms, lol. Neat token, wish I'd found it! HH Andi

Excuse me you calling me a liar

I don't think he is. He is just putting a well known saying in the right order, your statement didn't make sense.

Anyway, CONGRATS on a Extremely Rare (would be the correct rarity in the UK for a 3-5) token & because you have the knowledge you should snap up that ebay one as its in great condition (must be a top specimen) & only 1 of 5 known. Right?

Awesome find.:icon_thumleft:

Nice token!! Maybe the guy on ebay really does not know what he has:icon_scratch:
I do not know alot about tokens, but if it is really that rare, maybe it should be banner.
Congrats on a nice find!!

Joe

Thank you leprechaun

Thanks joe. Reason I haven't bought other token is I usually don't buy my stuff whether it be coins or tokens or cw relics. Usually like to find it, or drool over it till I do find one. Bought some old set of Indian heads in a case for my 4 yr old once and a proof set of coins for her bday
