Since my computer died , I only get a chance to post about once every week or 2. I have been hunting a few new locations and some old ones but have been finding some good relics in the last week or 2. My most notable find was a Louisiana cuff button in perfect , solid condition...shank slightly bent but intact. Also found an 1851 seated half dime (holed), a worn date LC, religeous medal(sacred heart of Jesus have mercy on us), several buttons and button backs , some bullets , rivets , grommets and other assorted brass items. Then ,of course, last weekend I revisited my favorite artillery area looking for another shell or cannonball. Hunting a new area I found about 50 cannonball and shell fragments , some iron case shot balls , a fired bullet and a "goose neck" eagle button loaded with gold. One of the cannonball frags is actually 2 cannonball frags that laid together for 150 yrs and fused together. Quite an unusual if not rare find.
This past weekend I hunted a NC beach and found a 14 k gold cross pendant and a few modern coins and a gold plated earring. ( no pics right now).
Thanks for looking and HH y'all
