Record day for me!

[litefire56]

Went for a morning hunt with Brett today, and we went back to the spot that I got pretty much skunked last week. (1 wheat & a button) Now, armed with the mighty DFX and some new settings I was ready with loupe in pocket, ready to read some old dates on a couple keepers.
It's funny how things can change in a week. Now I call it the mighty DFX, but last week I wanted to throw it in the river.
My first keeper turned out to be my best merc yet, a '17 with full split bands. Next I dug a deep steer head Bolo tie thingy which I misplaced somewhere (sorry no pic, but it did deserve an honorable mention) Then came another '17 Merc, the '01 Injun, the 43-s frickin' war nickel (sorry Neil, I thought it was another Injun) that rang up around a 53 VDI. And lastly another Merc, a '26. Right before I got the last Merc signal I was stung by a bee, right behind behind the knee and was still wincing in pain and limping. Heck, I just got lucky today and happened to get my coil over some coins I guess. We've been to this place twice now and haven't even touched 1% of the total area. I originally found this area marked as a picnic grounds on a hand drawn 1860 map. Could be a great location for a fall hunt.
My first 4 silver day! Yippie!

Thanks for looking and hope you guys did well also!

Four silvers and an Indian in one hunt - is Brett sweating it yet?
