Today after work I hit the woods close to where I found the breast plate . It was a dump site at one time and there is iron every where.
I started picking a few relics out of the iron and brier patches . The best are two cuff buttons. Lots of relics in there but the brush is thick.
I also picked up a soda bottle that I would think is from the 40s.
The neatest thing was a J hook right under the leaf litter and also one of the bullets was only about an inch deep. Going to try again this weekend. I know there is another plate hiding in there somewhere. :coffee2:

Sometimes you got to battle the briars to get the good stuff! I think that soda dates back into the 1930s.

Hello birdman,

I do admire that Honey Boy, sir. I expect it dates to the 1920's or 30's. Does it have a city embossed, or perhaps an "LGW" mark? I'd really like to see cleaned up photos in natural light, if you're so inclined, please.

The bottle guys call this style a Deco soda. Thanks for showing us.

Surf, it does have "LGW" on the bottom. What does that stand for? Sorry a better camera is on my wish list for this year. This one is a cheapo and has a hard time with close ups.

Hey bird man,

It's the mark of Laurens Glass Works, Laurens, SC. They made a ton of early soda bottles. Are there any numbers bracketing the LGW?

Photos are unclear. Do you have a little tulip icon on your camera? That might allow you to get all up close a bit better. :happysmiley:

Nana, How ya been?:hello: I found the breast plate about 2-3 weeks ago and still can't stop looking at it.
I will try the natural light thing next time I have something good to post.
