I have been looking at a map from 1876 of the town where my camp is and i noticed a house right next to where the soccer fields are/were. There is only woods next to them, so i decided to check it out. I got in the woods and it was pretty thick, but i saw a large hole (with no stones or bricks) and another smaller one a few feet away. There was also a barbed wire fence guarding a deep ravine. I was detecting and i got a good hit, and i pulled up this nice button. It has the eagle design on the front and on the back says SIGMUND EISNER REDBANK.

I did a little research and i found that the button was from 1911 ( not as old as i hoped, but good nonetheless) and was worn on the uniforms of park rangers. I found this excerpt online: "Subsequently, not only were these buttons used on the uniforms made by Eisner, but the department also purchased them for uniforms the rangers had made by other manufacturers and to replace those lost through attrition. Even though the rangers had to furnish their own uniforms, the buttons were given without charge."

I also found 3 old spoons, part of a pocketwatch, and some sort of decorative band, like a napkin ring or something. The pictures don't do the button justice, it's in beautiful condition!!
