Detector(s) used
XP Deus II v0.6 with 11" Coil
Primary Interest:
All Treasure Hunting
After starting in the rain & about 2.5 hrs into the hunt I finally found a hammered Sixpence of Elizabeth I. Other than that, this field is one of those 'bad fields' with 1 amazing find in it. Its a good job I homed in on it in the first 30 mins because this is not a field we would bother 'fully gridding'.
Other finds after 2hrs 45mins:
Dad got our first Georgian 'Iron' Shoe Buckle.
Knights of the Holy Sepulchre Cross
1950 Halfcrown

We then moved to a grass field for 1 hour & got 2 Scrappy Roman Coins & a Cut Qrter Shortcross Hammered:icon_thumright:

There can't be treasure under every X! And if you didn't go back you'd have to live with not knowing.

What you call a "bad" field doesn't look so bad to me! I'd love to hunt it and make those finds.

Yep that's a bad field for sure. If you send that stuff my way I'll get rid of it for you.

Other than that hammered silver and the cross i like the motorcycle(pin?)! Best is that you got the probably best find of this field before you stopped hunting. :icon_thumleft:

I am not an expert on identifying coins, but i would say those roman coins would probably sell for a good 7k and up.

Yes, looks like part of a lead motocycle.

Exactly right, its an easy 'give up' field.

I think the lead toy is cool.. My best artifact came out of a field that was almost totally dead. Found about a total of 5 targets and one was a piece of a bronze age sword. So even bad fields can be good!!

Exactly, but we normally only hit them when we have no other 'better' options, or we are wasting good ground time.
