What a difference a day makes. Yesterday a friend and I got out for a hunt. We were rained on, eaten alive by mosquitoes, hunting fields with wet knee high grass, and he was doing it with a bad coil. The take was a crotal bell for him, a silver disk for me... it was not a good day.

But today was certainly different.

I dug a British 1790s/War of 1812 General Service Officer button, and a Rev War Loyalist King's American Regiment Officer button... and both quite nice! I also just bought a smart phone so had a camera, and as if it was meant to be this is my first shots ever from the field, and the button landed exactly as it's shown in the picture... I didn't touch it and called my friend over to check it out, and then took the pics. I also got a piece of a 1 real which is likely counterfeit, a rotted halfpenny, and 1963 silver quarter. So I guess today's theme was quality over quantity, although we did dig a lot of targets, most being old trash. A good day it was.

How many of the King's American Regiment have you dug now?

Would have to think back and count by site... but at least 12.

Some great summertime finds there IP. Love those buttons as well as the faux-silver.

Those are a couple of great looking buttons.

The buttons are wonderful.

Great buttons! The loyalist button is phenomenal. What did you use to clean it up so well?

Lemon juice. I initially used peroxide to keep the green, but wasn't able to get enough gold out, so went this way.

Bloody hell that should look good on the banner!

NICE '63 quarter, the find of the day!

But seriously, those buttons are quite superb!

Killer bro! Really psyched to see you nail a couple of beauties. Condition is excellent....uh oh I think the sleeping lion just woke up lol. Happy for ya brother

Awake for a little longer, then back to sleep until Oct.. :) But at least I have something now to put up against you... and my little toy cannon as well.

Btw I voted BANNER on these as I believe any Rev War button in beautiful condition should go. Throw in the other and it's a no brainier for me bud

Wow, those are part of our most sacred history, probably worth a small fortune to a collector too! :icon_thumright:

And that is Quality IP

No question it's worthy between the history and condition, but since I have had two up there already I don't really expect it.... and it's not a big deal.

Yes, the first ones I found many years ago, but there's very few high end Rev War button collectors and when they each have a nice example the price greatly declines, and that is the case for these, unfortunately.

Absolutely Killer Finds I.P. !! I'm just seeing this now - I'm blown away by the condition of those - Banner worthy for sure !
you got age , condition and history . Nice .

( I'm also pretty high on the original profile QE II Canadian Silvers )
