On the way home from work yesterday, I got permission to hunt a 1946 house close to where I live. The owner lives next door. It was his parents house, and it is now abandoned. He is giving the house away FREE, if anyone cares to move it.
Anyways, I called Ridley and told him I had permission. We had time for a short hunt last night before it got dark. I dug a few relics (pictured), and three wheats (51, 51, & 51D).
Ridley dug the red toy firetruck, and then began working on a crater of a hole on another find close by. His find quickly changed from silver, to what he thought was a toaster.
He started laughing at the thought of digging up a toaster. I felt bad for him, so I went over to help him dig. Of course this monster was under a root. It got too dark to finish the dig, so he covered it back up for "another day".
I went back there tonight on my way home. I found a piece of a Roy Rogers token. I can see his face, a horse on the back, and "Good luck" and "RR", but that's it.
I attached a picture of a good one that I found on the net so you can see what it should look like.
Since I wasn't finding much, I decided to finish the "toaster" dig for my buddy. After digging, screaming, sweating, and prying with a rock hammer, I finally released this beast from it's underground lair. :P It turned out to be an old hubcap with "V8" on it.
I'm thinking Ford truck?
Ridley,
Sorry it wasn't a toaster, but at least you can fry eggs in it. It would also make a great sun hat.
Thanks for looking,
MM
P.S. If we don't find anything better than these finds this weekend, feel free to boot us off TN.
