Right next to a penny...

[RJH02]

Hi, Went to my favorite spot today for an hour or so, found some clad in a new area I havent searched til today, on my way back to my jeep I hit my usual route and hit on a zinc penny 9 inches deep. I just had to dig it to make sure my new DeLeon's T.I.D. was working ok, it was so(maybe it was 7 inches) I re-checked my hole with a wide sweep and about 18 inches to the right of the penny I found this my oldest coin yet. Now I know they are there!!!

If there is one it most likely has friends. Keep it low and slow, and good luck. Great find.

Very nice! Congrats on your oldest coin. Good to see a Tesoro out there pulling out the deep silver.

must've been a post-'82 Barber for it to read "zinc."
