Ring @ park - would you claim it as gold?

Having a family cookout at a park today and I spent a bit over an hour swinging coil with my old Fisher F2, getting a bit of ribbing from the kin. Isn't it amazing how interested people get once you find something though? I found a few clad coins and a toy car, then got my find of the day. I have to admit that I was a bit disappointed when I saw "10KP" inside... any ring is treasure to me, so I'm thrilled, but would you claim it as a gold find if it was yours? Lesson for us all - keep your MD handy and you never know when an opportunity will arise!

Javadroid, we have seen this issue before here, and 14 KP means 14 Karat Plumb gold...14KT minimum. So, you have yourself a gold ring, not plated. Congrats!

Congrats on the 10k gold Java! You did it with the real deal but even if it had said GF or RG, I still would have claimed gold in front of everyone. Would have been fun watching everyone eat crow for their picnic, lol [emoji23]
