Lost a great one today, Dusty Hill of ZZ Top passed away in his sleep. Been listening to ZZ Top since 1973 with release of Tres Hombres.

RIP, Dusty. The "bottom of the rhythm section of the top"

For practice tonight, I'll go downstairs and play; Waitin for the bus, Jesus just left Chicago, Beer drinkers & hell raisers, Master of sparks, LaGrange, heard it on the X and Tush. All off the same disc two CD from their "six pack" release.
Awesome band. He will be missed.

Some of my favorites songs too....

One of the ladyfriend and I's early dates was a ZZ Top concert.
Her dancing in the isle suggested it was a good choice.

Saw ZZ Live first time in 1974, see them twice more since.

Music sure can bring you back in time, especially to your teens when music was having so much influence on your life.

First concert I ever saw was ZZ Top and Kansas in 1975 in Johnstown, PA
Next time I saw them was with Aerosmith in Pittsburgh in 1976
Last time I saw them was with the Rolling Stones in Dallas in 1981
RIP Dusty

Saw zz top play at the Jacky gleason theater in South beach Florida a couple years back they were awesome, may Dusty rest in peace

My buddies posted that and I could not believe it. Guess I'll just go downtown and look for some tush.

First heard ZZ Top in 1973.I was in the Caribbean on a LST,USS Lamour County I was fooling around with a FM radio and picked up a station in Kingston,Jamaica playing I think the first album recorded and I,ve been a fan ever since.RIP Dusty.

Bought them on 8 track, cassette, vinyl, CD timeless it seems even while growing old.
RIP Dusty

I saw ZZ Top get booed off the stage in St. Louis. They backed up the Doobies on a week night. The equipment truck broke down and the concert was over an hour late getting started. The boppers at the show wanted to see the Doobies and it was getting late. When ZZ Top came out they were booed off. I came for ZZ so was bummed. Saw them a couple weeks later at a better venue plus two more times after that. Gary

Two of my favorite musicians gone in two days. Very sad. :(

Sad news! They were to play here in Simpsonville SC last night.

Guess Elvis has a new bass player. Dusty was a big fan. And damn, I feel officially old today.

Well I will say this. When I saw them open up for the Rolling Stones at the Cotton Bowl in 1981, they finished their set, put their guitars down and walked off the stage. BUT the music kept playing, Hmmmm....
Later partied with one of Frank Beard's ex-girlfriends in Dallas and told her about that. She said everything was synced with them.
