Rock polish...

Found this quartzite looking hardstone pc on a site that didn't produce nothing more than a few scrapers and a lot of outcropped flint, they didn't use that spot long but they were there. This pc is busted in half and has polish you can see where the rocks contour changes where the red arrows are. Maybe they were making a celt. Do you think it was busted in half as part of the shaping process or?
