Check old frontier home sites by going to town/county HISTORICAL Offices, look around Shenandoah Rivers "sites", East & West Rockingham County has a DIVERSITY; depending on what you are looking for. Gotta do Research & Investigation, FIRST.

In terms of Elkton, Va.; it was known as CONRAD'S STORE during the Civil War. You MAY have to use THAT name in checking THAT area. Conrad's Store was/is located on the FAR east edge of town, near the cemetery... from I can remember. From there, a road goes behind Kite's place (Mansion?) on Rt 33. It IS haunted, as well as old Town Hall behind McDonald's. It was a Hospital, & "Psychic Investigators" staying over-nite there, DID hear moaning/groaning/screaming... SPOOKY Stuff; it was in the VALLEY BANNER newspaper YEARS AGO! More HAUNTED places abound on Rt. 33, going into H'burg, Va. @ THREE CW battlefields near-by... SPOOKS abound!

ANOTHER road from that area goes back down to Naked Creek (Nekked Creek), and the MOUNTAINS! (East).
