Great coins. The first coin I found In England was A Hadrian Denar. I about fell over, I thought to myself it can't be this easy to find awesome coins like this. I was right it's not easy, but everytime I go hunting in England I absolutely love it. It does'nt matter if I find awesome stuff it's the thrill of the hunt.

Congratulations on the banner. This may turn out to be an important find that might shed new light on your country's history, keep an eye on the archaeologists if they dig, there might be newer coins there that you can claim.

I don't usually read the European finds much as I am so far removed from them, but I gotta say I really REALLY enjoyed this post. Great job plotting those and it makes me believe too they were plow drug and that there are deeper coins to be recovered next year. Thats exciting stuff to look forward to. Would have loved to been with you on this recovery. Congrats on The Banner!

A question for you: Can you give an estimate on depth range? Do you go by sound or VDI?

You must understand it this way, Papa Bear.
I am an amateur archaeologist "working together" with the museum.
I get a fee for my finds. In my country you have to send in all finds older than 1536.
I can search an dig in the plow soil. If there is nothing more that the detector can hear, I must wait til next year when it gets plowed again.
But when things are deeper down, like at coin hoard might well be, the archaeologists must come and make an excavation.
In this case with a hoard, I will get a fee also for the coins that may later be found by an excavation on the location.
