Ruidoso Panning

does anyone know or has anyone ever panned and sluiced in the ruidoso area? so you need a permit?

gpaa might be able to help. i have heard there is a mining company that will let you there. i dont know much about it.

The mining company closed down. Im just wondering if you can go up above the Bonita lake area and pan as long as your off a claim

desertscour, was that the guy who had a store in Ruidoso back 12 years ago? Maybe a little longer.
He had a claim over closer to Nogal which me and a friend visited, found two pickers. I think he had
a heart condition and his wife ran the store selling prospecting supplies. He had some bags of cons he
sold for $5.00 ea. I bought about 10 bags and the dirt was just backyard dirt he salted with 8-12 au
pickers. Should have bought all they had as it was good gold.
