SALWATER HUNT... 2 seniors demand a cut of anything valuable !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

HEY GUYS AND GALS

Out for a hunt today on the shore....beautiful day !!!!

Went to a place where we acccess the shore from a parking lot...been there a few times.

Was hunting along the shore when ... I hear..."HEYYYY".... I look around and there is 2 older folks out on their back patio deck.

We were about 100 feet from them on the rocky shore.... I say.."Hi there".

Old fellow says... "Mind if I ask what are doing ".....I say "Metal Detecting".

He says.."What are you looking for".... I say "Buttons"....he goes.... "PFFFFFFFFFFF"...obviously didn,t believe me.

He then says..."thats my land...I own to low water".... I say "NO.. you don,t...know one owns to low water. I,m allowed to be here "

He says.. " YES i DO ...Your telling me that you can come up to my patio and dig ??"

I said ../"Yes..but I wouldn,t "....

He repeats... "I OWN TO LOW WATER...and I want a piece of anything valuable you find"

I repeat..."NO..NO ONE OWNS TO LOW WATER IN NOVA SCOTIA !!"

He says ..."how do you know".

i SAID...."I looked it up"

He says .."I guess I better make some phone calls"

I Said... "Please do"

I said to his wife..."we are not hurting anything..it is only a hobby"

She say..."ok"..then goes into the house with the old fella....never seen them again and the cops didn,t show up.

I was very nice to them but he was very rude. !!!

He was only worried about us finding something worth $...he prolly hasn,t been on the shore in a decade. !!!

Makes me so mad...but kept my cool and stayed polite regardles of their attitude.

I am on FACEBOOK !!!

Someone took photos of me and Cousin ED detecting....and posted them on facebook.

Under the photos they ask.... "Who are these people and are they finding anything valueable !!!!!!!"

This was yesterday....seen a lady taking pictures of us .

Actually it's illegal to take pictures of people without their permission...have Facebook take them down..

Actually, it isn't. This has been to court many times, and it always comes down to "a person in a public place has no expectation of privacy". Now, you might get yelled at or punched out, but it is not illegal.

Actually, it isn't. This has been to court many times, and it always comes down to "a person in a public place has no expectation of privacy". Now, you might get yelled at or punched out, but it is not illegal.

Also---I guess we need to look at this from another perspective.

There is 6 or 7 other houses along the same spot... no one has said a word.

Everyone waves or says hello when they pass by....and have run into 4 people on the shore just walking and picking up shore glass etc... they all say hello with big smiles.....2 people yesterday said hello and asked if was finding anything....I told them what I was finding...they asked to see ...so I showed them.

They were happy to see the military button I had on me...pleasant experience.

But now it seems people are starting to get nosey and wondering what exactly we are finding.

Cops were up by my truck last week also......parked about 100 feet behind it..,....I kept on detecting..he stayed there.

When I got doen I went to the truck.....sure enough...away he comes...stops by me asks what i,m up to.

I tell him...he is just doing small talk..not getting to the point of what he wants.

Then he says...is there anything up on them hills over there ?

THE HILLS....are national historical property !!!

I tell him.... well if i went there...you would prolly get a call and then come and lug me off to jail !!! CAUSE IS ILLEGAL TO HUNT THERE !!

HER SAYS..OH..well I didn,t know the rules on that . !!!!!!!!!!!

NOW THAT IS BULLSHIAT.. if I ever heard it !!! Of course he knows...he was baiting me I,m sure.

I think people are squawking for whatever reason......they just hate seeing someone having fun or think we are finding a Kings Ransom in treasures.

I Wouldn't want my face on face book either,That's why I don't have an account. I honestly don't know what you can do about it legally though ?

For the most part facebook does suck, and is a place for "busybodys" Yes that is going to catch me much flack. But this is an open forum,and that is my opinion, if you don't like opinoin you really should not be part of an open forum. I don't like facebook, that is my "opinioin" . There are many who do, that's fine for you, I'm not dissing you, but watch what happens to me for "dissin' " facebook.

That is OK for I know it is an open forum and I am grown up enough to accept opinions

Riparian Rights, gets a little complicated down here, I don't know about up your way? Some properties can have the whole beach, where most only down to the high water mark. Access should be availible to all to get to the low side of the high water mark in my opinion. As long as there are lawyers and big money the little guy will always lose. Facebook can have its benefits(my moms genealogy group) but it just seems like it creates so much drama for people. I personally do not have a Facebook account because I go out of my way to not get involved in other peoples business
People posting family issues and personal business is such a crazy notion to me. But it seems to be the norm. Every aspect of someone's life is right there for the world to see. If used correctly I'm sure it's a great tool to stay in touch with family or old friends but it always seems to cause issues because people don't know how to keep their personal lives personal.
I hope you wake up this a.m. and forget about those people that just aren't worth your time. Like I said before...Just keep being you and don't let anyone suck the joy out of what should be a great day

I have never been on Facebook..ever.

But I do understand its great benefits for those looking to keep in touch with loved ones and friends ....in that aspect it is a great tool.

But 50% of people I know that are on Facebook tell their every move of the day including the last bowel movement while it is moving !!!

Not my cup of tea.

Won,t let their attitude slow me down.....life is full of people like that. While I truly don,t understand it....it is just the way it is.

Cousin ED whow as with me...he is almost 63... said to me afterwards--- "if I get like that when I get older I hope someone shoots me"
