Hey everyone,

Went back to the same site today and found a 63 D Wash. Quarter, two buckles and my Lesche that I lost over the summer! It needs a good sanding but other than that I'm glad I finally found it! Take that stupid yellowjackets!! :tongue3:

My friend found the identical buckle on the top of the pic and the bottom looks similar to one I found. When I cleaned my a little, I was able to see "Wm Smith PAT MAY 5 1885" Does yours say anything?

I thought I had one like the bottome one... but not even close....

Hi Bev, funny you should ask...Initially I ran it under water and saw nothing but after reading your reply I cleaned it more thoroughly and was surprised to see the word "STERLING"(with symbols) staring back at me. I'm guessing it must have been plated at one point but anyways thanks for asking because I wouldn't have known otherwise!

Nice finds!

All the best,

Lanny

Congrats on finding silver JW! :notworthy:

Those buckles are pretty old too! :o
