SANDMAN here,back on line with a helth up date.

I want to thank all that wished me well. I am getting the use back of my right arm and leg slowly. I am told I will need much strength training. I learned this hosp has a computer keyboard at each bed and I can peck out some short posts. It is boring as heck here at night. My old butt has the wrinkled sheets feeling like mountain ridges.

Thanks again for the kind thoughts, It means a lot to me.

Ahhh...I see that Sandman beat me to it....LOL

Just talked to Sandman/Dennis via PM a few minutes ago. He said he is recovering....trying to use the computer that is in his room. He said he has the use of his right arm and leg back now, but needs strength training for a few days. He hopes that nobody thinks he is ignoring them.

Ya can't get much better than the legendary Sandman.

Dennis, I know that you know this, but I've got to say it anyway. We miss you...we need you....we care for you.............our thoughts and prayers are for you and your healing............so pls get better, ok?

I hope Dennis doesn't mind me doing this, but when I joined TNET last year, I watched as members would ask questions....and other members would offer advice. One of those individuals who gave freely of their experience and knowledge was Sandman. I sent a PM to him expressing my thanks, and he sent me a response PM. I kept that PM. In part, here is what it said:

"I was a Quartermaster in the Navy aboard USS Tidewater AD-31 for only six years. I was a fisherman back then and being 60 ft. off the water pulled at my soul. First day I got discharged I went fishing. When I took up metal detecting there was no one to teach. We made our own mistakes. I am 65 and been through the the health thing lately. That is why I am unable to continue hitting the east coast in my van like in years past. I hope to continue to offer my two cents for who ever thinks they need it."

Folks, keep Sandman in your thoughts and prayers. He has freely given of his advice and experience, and we are better off because of it.

You have really helped me since I started detecting and you were always quick to answer my questions, even though to you they must have been very basic and answered hundreds of times to others in the past.

Have your son bring in your scoop and take some pictures of the nurses holding it...............

Dennis....So glad to hear from you....you gave us all a big scare and now that you are on the road to recovery we hope you are giving those nurses a run for their money! Its great that you can use computer from hospital....keep us updated .... and send us a pic of you in that sexy little hospital gown....

Sorry I'm so late here Sandman. I miss you already, your my second life mentor. I was just setting up to follow your lead and hit the eastern shore's this spring so please get better. I'm hoping to maybe hook up with you this summer. Of course all that is if My jailers let me out. Been there recently my buddy. And I don't know about your hospital but as far as mine was concerned they hired way to many male nurses, some of which I refused to let touch me if you know what I mean. Cool hospital that has I-net connections and all. Wonder if you can get someone to hook you up with a i-net video cam. Course not so we can see you but whenever you got some nice eye candy in a Nurses uniform we could share in your pain,hehehe.
