What a difference a week makes, last weekend blazing hot, today overcast with a blustery wind… much nicer for digging, well I say digging it was mostly walking…. just over 11,500 steps 😅 xx

We went back to the same area as we did in the week, but tried the other side of the road, what a strange field…. Lots of iron signals, a few scattered bits of pot, very little lead….. so was actually very pleased we did find some thing tbh! Xx

I saved this cute little half buckle, lead disk and lead ball, buttons, a bent buckle a little possible curb chain (?) 2 toasted coins, and bang centre of the field I dug myself a little hammered! 😍 xxx

A pretty view and thistles in flower… amazing detail when you really look at them 😍 xx

Congrats on the "hammie"! Your soil there looks pretty rough on copper. Maybe too much fertilizer over the years?

Which pin pointer? You might try pushing the pin pointer into the soil before you turn it on. That can sometimes help ground balance it so that it doesn't just squawk on you.

So...kidding aside....are you a professional photographer? Your photos are always quite striking! Congrats on the hammered silver!
Ah thank you, no I’m not a professional! just love the detail on flowers, and try to take pics that capture what we see for you all. I brought a cheap photo light box so I can take better pics of the finds, and just use bits of pot I pick up to prop them up. I know our finds are not Banner worthy super rare, but each one we save Is another link to the History of this area, and therefore deserves a moment in the spotlight! xx
