SC state seal button, Trilby , & 196? small cent
Seems like I always run out of time at night to post.
Here's some finds from the last few days at the plantation house.
I found a nice South Carolina state seal button today at lunch, and a 3-ringer only about 10 feet away. Ya-hooo.
Here are my goodies:
*South Carolina state seal button (23mm). "Horstmann & Allien/NY" back mark. (Alberts book SC14)
This is kind of a unique one in that the word "Opibusque" in the motto is misspelled as
"Opirusque".
*20mm "Plated" back mark flat button.
*21mm "Double" back mark flat button.
*3-ringer
*Old pocket watch chain.
*"TRILBY" cast iron vent piece from a wood stove.
Any idea on the age?
*Tiny copper bell with hash mark design on both sides. (It polished up nicely too)
*A 196? memorial small cent.
Someone must have been bored and trimmed this sucker down.
*Asst's buckles / clips.
*Old barbed wire piece.
I've never seen this style before. Any idea on the age?
Me and two other TN members will be hitting the place again on Saturday. (They better not find a reale
)
Thanks for looking.
