Where do you draw the line between a scalp and a pelt?

If you just knock off a piece of hair and skin for a trophy it is a scalp . If you give meticulous care to the entire carcase ;ears,
lips,toes,ect. with the intent of long term preservation it is a pelt

Something you could snip or just mount...

Found that if not treated correctly, they tend to smell...

First one I ever got I nailed in the barn...Boy was that ever a mistake...

Went south on me fairly soon...

this is such a silly question to be thrown out there with kinda no extra content --had me cracking up

skull cap for deer or critters that are kinda messed up or not a prize
full head mount for the great ones
pelt--?--we don't do pelts. Too much work to tan.

BUT when a kid I got into these rabbit pelts. We were on vacation and they had tons of rabbit pelts, fox tails and all that for sale. I just loved the colors of the bunny pelts. Well, within a year the things STANK! just had that dead critters stink all over them, lol, so Momma put into the trash. pelts were gonzo

I would prefer a scalp but will settle for a pelt always above the waistline somewhere below the ears theres a hide that I cannot find.

Say a Snowbird lady the other day sportin a pink pelt on her head...Snowbirds are those folks from the northern states that migrate to Phoenix, Las Vegas and Palm Springs in the wintertime...

He'll, some are called 'Blue Hairs' with the damnedest lookin head pelts...

Must really stink...see um all long the highway...probably throwed out da car winder...wonder if that's head flatulence...

Saw a Armadilla (Arizona Speedbump) sportin one a while back...
