Scratch one off the bucket list!!

I got permission to hunt an area next to a place I’ve hunted many, many times before. I found a lot of stuff over the years and was very excited to get this new place. Needless to say, it more than paid off! I put three hours hours in and just when I was ready to leave, this pops up! Also, it was one of the biggest bullet hauls at one time I’ve ever had. No CW buttons, which was strange considering the amount of bullets I found - just a few flat buttons and small rivets. Will definitely be back!

Thank y’all for all the kind replies! All that stuff was found in a 100x100 area. And I bet there is more there. Question - why were all those perfectly good bullets dropped? None were fired - all dropped. I’ve found hundreds of bullets in my area that were dropped.... anyone have a guess as to why good billets are dropped?

Just a guess,but if that was a large unit that camped there it wouldn,t take too many soldiers dropping individual bullets to add up to a bunch.Say a Regiment,that,s around 1000 men or maybe more.If each one dropped one bullet you get my drift!

Thanks crash, some of the holes had multiple bullets in them. It seemed like every where I swing there was a bullet. But no Civil War buttons. Strange.

Oh, I was going to post the coordinates for you to guard it, but my gps unit bit the dust 🙃😂

In all seriousness, did 3 ringers come as single unit with paper/powder attached? Maybe they were dropped because they got wet?

That,s a good theory about the wet bullets,maybe they were told to dig holes and bury the wet cartridges as useless.Good as any other and one I,ve not seen mentioned before.

Buttons are probably there but just not hitting them yet.
They'll be nice when you do get one, from the looks of the awesome plate.
