Managed 2 dinks today. Metal detecting Nevada just isnt the same as California. Oh how I miss digging up big nuggets. ( I did find a hole that was over 2' deep, I'm sure a lunker came out of that hole)
I did find someone's patch today, and there were empty holes that couldn't have been more than a day or 2 old. I swung around a bit but they had the place pretty clean, so I headed to where I found my last nugget. Low and behold I had one in my hand within a half hour of swinging. I drew a line between the 2 nuggets that were only 20 yards apart. Noticed the line between them was following a very defined seam of colorful striped ground. I stayed in that seam and on the next knoll I found my second piece. It was a long day, the wind had picked up and the emi got to where it wasn't very enjoyable anymore so I called it a day. The 2 together were .6 grams. The gpx 4500 did pretty good today. It's not built for little nuggets, but it finds some of them.
