Today the Se gave me another look at what it can do...it got the usual clad...pinpointing was perfect and the ground was soft. Got a 26 and 58-d wheatie, and a 35 merc that was so deep the flat metal handle part of the Lesche was inside the ground! :o Damn I am gonna love this machine! Here we go...fired up...fired up...yes...this machine is what I have heard...2nd silver for it in just a few hunts......... :sunny:

Not trying to be smart but told ya!!!!!

Minelab makes a good machine. Congrats on your finds.

Seems that everyone has the same remarks. Happy Hunting and maybe you will beat last year total.

Yes...I have those results saved....my tests pretty much showing the Se has a depth advantage. Not to knock the dfx....I still have one of those too! :D Also for cherry picking with its quick response...the dfx is hard to beat...

Nice deepie Greg, get use to seeing the the hand protector below the hole, pretty normal for the Explorer. Now when are you going to change your name to SE-DFX GREG! ;D

:D :D ;D It is something...I have not measured it yet...Lesche in trunk...but I dug a coin that had the Lesche past the handle protector that the ground met at the seventh ring on handle.... There is no dougbt this machine is a keeper! Thanks....... :)

congrats on the silver, so how deep was it?????????

Approximately 8"... :)

Nice finds.

That is deep. Since your comparision post I have been keeping track. I got a merc at 6.5" earlier this week with the DFX using factory preset. I will let you know when I find the 8" dimes ;-)

WTG Gregg 10k coins last year and well on your way in 08'

p.s....if you find another 10 thousand coins this year, you should petition to rename your state as----THE HOLE IN THE POCKET STATE :)

Congrats again on your finds

Forget the state all I need is the city! With a city of two million people, and over 500 parks its there for the taking...

Good finds Gregg!!!

I own a DFX and an Exp II with all the coils for both. I think you'll find as I did that the Explorer has an edge in depth. It seems to be a silver magnet and the DFX seems to do the same with nickels. You and I seem to have the best of both worlds. I have never been hung up on brand name only, just performance. After all, all those hours we spend sweating and digging should be as productive as they can be. I've had Whites equipment for 25 yrs or so and found lots of cool stuff but the Explorer opened my eyes that there may be something thats potentially better in some ways. So....I own them both but always favor the Explorer. The user is the one that can make their machine perform best and thats the most important part of the equation no matter what brand or price detector they use. Good luck on your new machine and let us know what you think about them after using them both for a little while. I don't guess it really matters one way or the other but its supposed to be about fun and using either of these machines will be fun no matter what.

Have fun digging,
Steve ;D
