Took my first trip back to my favorite Seated park, the one I hunted a week ago last Saturday with Ed and Tony from New York. Went to an area we didn't cover but that I've covered at least a dozen times in the past, with my Explorer XS, SE Pro and Nox. Finds were sparse, just a wheat and a common Jefferson, but then I came across a one-way signal but solid and registering 8 to 10 inches deep, so down I went. After pulling out about 8" of soil with nothing to show, I swung the coil over and it rang solidly in the high 80's/low 90's, so I dug more and as the dirt from one of those shovel-fuls fell, I could swear I saw silver. You'll see what I saw in the dirt and then what it turned out to be. Got a similar signal just a few feet away, another very deep one, and this one turned out to be a very crusty 18xx Draped Bust LC. The Seated dime is my 32nd from this park and 37th Seated overall.
Still digging my share of deep nails as I get used to the new machine, but I'll gladly trade a few nails for these old deepies- hard to believe I missed them so many times!
Enjoy the pics and HH All!
