I spent two hours detecting in the woods today and ended up with 7 shotgun shells from the 1930's and two cents! Fortunately, those two cents were both good coins.

The first is a semi-key date wheatie. It's a 1932 P, which had a mintage of only 9,062,000. Without a doubt, the lowest mintage wheatie I've ever found. Unfortunately, I didn't take any "before " pics because it was so crusty I couldn't read the date. Cleaned up really nice with a hydrogen peroxide bath.

That's a good find, but my other coin beats it (in my opinion). It's a 1906 IHC, which had a mintage of 96,000,000. Not rare, but it's in really nice condition. Came out of the ground in decent shape and cleaned up great with a hydrogen peroxide bath. It has full liberty visible on the headdress and overall sharp detail. This coin must have been dropped at least 100 years ago to have so little wear.

Here's a few pics:

Thanks guys! It's the small victories (like these two coins) that keep me digging.

Yup, that's the fun part at the end of the day. I put them in a cardboard flip and make a note of the date and location of the find.

This is my 21st IHC in 3 1/2 years of detecting and my first since February 18th. I've only found four this year and all four were at this spot. Weird!

Nice FBT nice. That IHC is really sweet.

Best of luck sir!
