Severe doubts I'll ever top this.

This is a semi recent find for me, and the best thing I'll probably ever have to post in this forum.

I went down to NC two weeks ago for CWDiggers wedding. We managed to get some hunt time in, and one of the days we all decided we wanted to dig some shark teeth. We went to the same place that Matt dug his nice blade(http://forum.treasurenet.com/index.php/topic,333602.msg2403721.html#msg2403721).

This was my first time digging for shark teeth, so all I really wanted was a few small ones just so I could say I'd "been there done that".

I don't know how I managed it, but in the first load of material, my first time sifting, this is what winds up in the middle of my sifter.

I was on cloud 9 the rest of that day, and even found some sharks teeth as well!

Was wondering if I could get some information on this one though, style and age maybe? I would really appreciate it, and thanks for being interested folks!

Very nice point you found there man! Looks like an archaic beveled blade or spear tip,looks to be an early form with killer serrations,wings clipped(whether this was done by the indians purposely,I dont know)ive found a few points made of that same black chert.Awesome!

I see where the point was found in NC. I'm from SC. It looks a lot like a Taylor style side notch point. These have basal grinding around the "ears" indicative of the the late Paleo, Early Archaic side notch points. Without feeling the "ears" of the point it's hard to tell, but it looks like you have fairly rare and very old point 10,000 years +-. Congrats!
