Dozens of sharks swim near the shoreline just north of the Fort Pierce Inlet on Tuesday. Aviation officials with the St. Lucie County Sheriff's Office said they saw more than 100 sharks feeding "close to shore" about 10 a.m. between the Fort Pierce jetty and Pepper Park. They are believed to be bull sharks, according to Chief Deputy Garry Wilson.

Since I was snorkling, I had to keep surfacing. He continued to circle around and around very fast and jerky underwater. I was surprised to see this possibly aggressive reaction from a shark that was not that big. He didnt seem large enough to be a problem, but it was a little unnerving. Me and my wife stayed anchored at the newly discovered wrecksite and started fishing, which she liked to do. We caught Grouper, and Yellowtail as fast as we could bait the hook, one after another. I never could find that spot again on the Bay side in the Keys that we accidentaly stumbled across. The people that rented us the boat could not believe that we caught those fish on the bay side. Those were days before GPS.
Thanks for the replys.

When I was at south beach last year with my family, my 2 kids and I were swimming and after we got out I had a guy come up to me and asked me if I saw the 3 sharks about 20ft from us, I asked him if he was kidding, he said he wasn't, I then proceeded to the life guard perch(whatever it is called) and asked him why he let us stay in the water with the sharks, this was his reply "you have nothing to worry about, sharks don't like Americans, they like Cubans, their meat is sweeter" then he said " I was watching them and I would have warned you if they looked aggressive" after that, anytime we went swimming or I went detecting I interviewed each life guard to see if they would let me know when they saw any sharks.
By the way, the life guard said he was Cuban.

I remember snorkeling a wrecksite in the Keys and on a dive, there was a shark, not very big, about 5 ft., swimming around me in circles very rapidly. I got back in the boat. Just curious, does anyone know what that means?
Anyone know?.. because I dont.
I have heard that they do that to "investigate" you, see if your intresting/possible food
